Well-drained soil. Covered with white phlox-like blooms for a long season. Panhandle native. Great plant Garden Notes: Even though called Sand Penstemon, it has done very well in my heavier clay type soil. Plant it on a mound and incorporate plenty of compost to give its roots better aeration.
