Description:
Good for food seasoning and a very good host plant for caterpillars. Use it to attract Black Swallowtail Butterflies to your yard. Triple Curled Parsley seems to be the preferred variety for butterfly food. Plant Plain Leaf Italian Parsley to have more to cook with.
Garden Notes:
Parsley is a biennial. It will produce a lot of green leaves the first year.- The second year it will bloom and go to seed fairly early spring so you will need to replant each year or leave the plant to reseed and get new plants the following year. We have not had to plant new plants in our beds for several years thanks to the volunteer plants we get.
