It fills its spot quickly, blooms early and it looks nice through winter. It reseeds itself minimally for me. A well watered flower bed may encourage more seedlings. Cut back and remove as much of the old dried leaves as possible in early spring as new growth begins. Cut a vase full of stems soon after the the seed heads develop for a long lasting dried arrangement. A great plant for containers.
