Easy to grow, but needs good drainage, compact clay is deadly. Mix in course compost. Mound soil slightly when planting to keep crown out of water. / Garden Notes:-Hidcote Blue grows a little slower and not as tall and showy as 'Phenomenal', 'Dutch', or 'Grosso', but it seems a little hardier overall. It provides a great grey in the garden when not in bloom. It will need to be pruned back to new growth in spring.
