Schizachyrium scoparium - Little Bluestem

Little bluestem is a great grass for a mid height ornamental planting for winter interest. Planted from our pots in spring or early summer it will provide a very nice sized plant the same year with great fall and winter color. Cut established clumps back hard by midsummer to provide the freshest leaves for fall color. It will not be of a lot of interest in your garden through summer, so planting around annuals that will be taken out for winter is a great use for this plant.
